NM Vaccine Purchasing Act + MA Mini-COBRA: Now on the Dashboard!
ComplianceDashboard is continually adding new state benefits laws to our compliance calendar. Here are two more state benefits laws now available on The Dashboard:
New Mexico Vaccine Purchasing Act
Under the New Mexico Vaccine Purchasing Act (VPA) group health plans (GHPs) must annually report to the NM Office of Superintendent of Insurance (OSI) the total number of insured resident children who are under the age of 19. GHP’s include: all health insurers, self-funded ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) group health plans, fully insured individual commercial health plans, fully insured group commercial health plans, and third-party administrators, so long as the plan provides coverage to a resident of New Mexico.
This requirement includes plans issued to employers located outside of New Mexico.
Massachusetts Mini-COBRA
MA Mini-COBRA allows employees and their family members to continue coverage on their small group health benefit plan and pay group rates for certain time periods under circumstances where they previously would have lost coverage. MA Mini-COBRA applies to small group health benefit plans issued to employers with 2-19 employees that offer fully insured group health plans.
State laws are covered on The Dashboard based on the applicability to benefit plans and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
